The stretch-out-the-stress program is taught three times over the course of the one-day workshop. This easy to do stretch program is not difficult - in fact anyone can do it. You will easily be able to practise it at home or before any sports training, taking just 10 to 15 minutes. For ease of learning and application, the routine is broken into sections, eg what to do if you get a headache or migraine. The style of meditation taught is one of sense awareness, starting with the breath, leading the "misery mind" and "pain body" away from anguished thoughts and negative feelings towards a focused and detached awareness of key aspects of the senses. The end result is a state of inner stillness, calm and a deep relaxation of the mind and body. We start off the day with only a few minutes focus training (meditation) and by the end of the day you will want to sit for hours. You will quickly understand why monks and yogis choose to 'sit in caves' and meditation all day.
People resist learning to meditate because of the anguished thoughts of the mind and a restlessness and tension that builds within the body. My first meditation intensive was almost 20 years ago and I still remember it well as a major turning point in my life.
